Britain’s oldest couple on Twitter

Britain’s oldest couple on Twitter

We would all love to know the secrets of a successful long term relationship. How do you keep the spark alive? How do you ensure you stay together through thick and thin? After 76 years of marriage, Lionel and Ellen Buxton think they have the answer. In aid of Valentine’s Day, Britain’s oldest married couple decided to share their romantic wisdom on Twitter.

The couple, who claim to have not spent more than one night away from each other since they married in 1936, have been answering Twitter users’ romance-related questions and problems all day.

When asked how we can be the person we want to be to our loved one, Ellen, 100, and Lionel, 99 replied: ‘Giving and taking. Sharing thoughts.’
